reshaped by using an excimer laser.

LASIK (Laser-assisted
in situ keratomileuses) : A femtosecond laser is used to
make a flap on the top of the cornea. Then the flap is lifted, and then the
shape of the cornea is corrected with the excimer laser. After completing the
reshaping of the cornea, the flap is re-aligned.

SMILE (Small
incision lenticule extraction): In this surgery, VisuMax
femtosecond laser is used to make an arc-shaped cut on the cornea. Before this,
the lenticule (a small disc-shaped piece of the cornea) is made. Then the
bubbles are formed around the tissue that is needed to be extracted. These
tissues are then extracted through the arc-shaped cut.
